Hollyglen Community

GlasgowParkHollyglen is a small community located in the western part of Hawthorne.  This community is bordered by the 405 Freeway, Rosecrans Avenue, Aviation Blvd, and a set of railroad tracks running along its northern boundary.  It is adjacent to its sister communities – Wiseburn and Del Aire.


The Hollyglen community is located within the Wiseburn School District boundaries.

Those school age children who do reside within Hollyglen’s the Wiseburn School District boundaries are eligible to attend the new, high-tech Juan Cabrillo Elementary School (grades K-2), Peter Burnett Elementary School (grades 3-5), Richard Henry Dana Middle School (a.k.a. Dana; grades 6-8).  There is also a collection of charter schools that serves the Wiseburn School District students – the Da Vinci schools – consisting of Da Vinci Innovation Academy -a home-school-friendly curriculum – for grades K through 8, Da Vinci Design (a liberal arts curriculum, for grades 9-12), and Da Vinci Science (science, technology, engineering and math, for grades 9-12).  In the few short years since the first of the Da Vinci schools opened, they has been nationally recognized for their fresh approach to education, adopting a project-based learning method.

Currently, the residents within the Wiseburn School District approved Measure AA in 2010 to allow the Wiseburn School District to build a new public high school.  Currently, the high school grades are being served by Hawthorne High School, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Centinela Valley Union High School District.
